Phew!

It's been wayyyy to long since I blogged! Anyways...to catch you up... I have been vacationing for the past TWO weeks in North Carolina. I spent the first week with Justin's family at Garrison Point on the Pamlico River, then Justin and I took 3 different ferries across the Sound to spend the next week with my family on Hatteras Island! Despite being sick (sadface), I had a great time driving out on to the beach and relaxing all week! We drove out on the beach, ate some delicious food, and just had an overall great time! I'm glad to be home though...and I got home just in time... I leave to go back to UVA in less than one week to begin RA training...woooohoooo....it's third year!

Washington DC

I took a trip with some great friends up to DC yesterday evening. We attended a service underneath Ebenezer's coffee shop at National Community Church! What great things they are doing there! Their whole service was designed to connect with the "Sub 30" (college and twenty-somethings) crew! It was so neat to worship with so many different people in such a great atmosphere. Following the service, we poured love and hope into each other and finished the night with a prayer for our nation as we sat outside the capitol building. GOD bless America! :)

Out of the Darkness 2011

The 4th Annual Spotsylvania Out of the Darkness Community walk will be on October 15 this year at the Spotsylvania Courthouse Village! As a member of the executive team, I am so excited to put some of the finishing touches on our fundraising and participant-energizing programs for this year! We are laying the foundation for others to step in and continue to make a difference in the Spotsylvania Community for those affected by suicide and depression in the coming years! More to come... :)

Legacy!

Wow! There are just wayyyyy too many things I have to say about Fuge camp this past week! I saw God save many middle school students and I don't know if there was one person in our group who didn't have an encounter with God! The worship, led by Sidewalk Prophets, was phenomenal. I didn't expect to be a student at this camp, but I learned SO much that I renewed my faith in Christ! Praise the Lord! I had not realized how much more intricate a relationship with Christ could be. I hope all the people in my life will benefit from my new life! :)

Be strong in the Lord
Never give up hope
You're gonna do great things
I already know.
God's got his hands on you so
Don't live life in fear.
Forgive and forget, but
don't forget why you're here.
Take your time and pray...
These are the words I would say!

Be Still....

Sometimes God calms the storm...other times, God calms His child.

"I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid." John 14:27

Just a few take-aways from the church service today at FRC! I'm off to Fuge camp...be back on Saturday! xoxo :)

Justin's Home!

...and he didn't get eaten by a shark!

Haha...I'm so excited that Justin is finally home from a 9 day vacation in Florida with his best friend! He saw alligators, manatees, whales, dolphins, turtles, sharks all swim around in the water he was fishing in! So cool! One night, they were kayaking in the sound a storm came through quickly and the waves and current started picking up taking them out away from shore! Although they took on a lot of water, they managed to make it back to the rocks...boy am I thankful for that! :)

Toward the end of his trip he got to see the final shuttle launch from Cape Canaveral...what a great experience and awesome memory! I have enjoyed listening to Justin's stories...they remind me of how it seems like God has been showing me how absolutely powerful and magnificent He is in the past week or so! :)
